Collin, My wife's call is KA7DHD tech plus if you please (when both of
us renew our tickets) and the phonetics of choice by her are dead hound
dog as she is always worn out by me for one thing or another. I did not
originate these but a friend of ours did 20 plus years ago and they have
always stuck.

I convinced my YL, since she really doesn't like the connetations of
XYL, to become a ham less then a month after i got my ticket.
She's blind as well, so there are less issues surrounding antenna
placement then what i have heard from those with sited spouses.
She doesn't mind me having a 60 foot random wire strung up along the
living room, dining room and kitchen ceiling.
also, as long as an antenna is out of the general work or walking area,
and she won't trip on it, or otherwise have cause for adult utterences
directed at me, then she's happy to let me put antennas where ever I so
desire.
She gets funny ideas of where to put antennas when they do inhibit her
demestic navigation though hi hi.
