Hi Robert,
The A M square loop antenna that came with your receiver should work well 
for A M signals.  If your trying to get a really weak signal or null out a 
local station, the Terk Advantage antenna works very well.  The disadvantage 
of this antenna is that you need to tune in each station to get maximum 
output.  For FM, a folded dipole works best.  Radio Shack also sells an 
amplified pair of rabit ears that work well.
