Yeah, Lou, since my wife got her extra last year I don't think she's been on the
air a half dozen times.  She's even tried to get some female hams together to
start something there and it just doesn't fly.  I've been in this town for over
two years and nothing's really popped up for either of us despite fairly regular
requests.  That's even the case with a new area club that's forming.  I'd thing
kthey'd be looking for new blood, VEs, and people with reasonably good gear,
especially since they're an emergency communications club.  Then again, if
you're not running grs, aprs, or have real time radar capability there's getting
to be little use for you these days.
