I wish I could get my hands on one to play with serial control.   I guess when the designer says he can operate it blindfolded, we stand a fair chance of using it.  

I wonder how hard it would be to get serial commands from an external keypad?

What, exactly, sounds inaccessible about tap and hold? It's the exact same concept used in the K2, KX1, and (dare I say) the BookCourier and BookPort. If it turns out there are insurmountable accessibility problems with the K3 (which I doubt will come to pass), putting secondary functions on a button, accessed by a longer hold of the button, won't be one of them.
