Forgive me for bopping into the middle of this conversation, as I have been
absent for a while. I'm a post-breast cancer patient who takes one drop of
Lugol's iodine daily. From my conversations with Dr. Derry, and from
reading his book "Breast Cancer and Iodine - Startling ground-breaking new
research shows how to prevent and how to *survive* breast cancer" I found
that:
"But now we can suggest that all stages of development up to and including
carcinoma in situ are reversible with adequate iodine therapy." pp 84-85.
It's a huge and complex subject. As Dr. Derry writes "As we have postulated
in the section on iodine, the first part of the biphasic cancer surveillance
system of the body is the presence of iodine in the extra-cellular spaces.
Our dietary intakes in North America and Europe are about 1/10th the intake
needed to saturate the thyroid and fulfill the needs of the surveillance
system for abnormal cells. As the World Health Organization recommended
dose of iodine is designed to prevent goiter formation, we now think this is
sub-optimal intake for longevity, good health and cancer prevention."
Lugol's iodine may be obtained from a compounding pharmacy without
prescription. Lugol's is a dilute form of iodine.
