This is a really good question worth exploring. It would not be too difficult
to look at the levels of estradiol, progesterone, Free T3, Free T4 before and
during one of those tired periods to see which parameter seems to be
involved.

Even more important, however, is the need to look at your overall health
status. Symptoms like yours can come from inadequately treated hypothyroidism as
well as from a variety of Medical problems. There is no substitute for getting
a complete  history in order to understand this difficulty.
