Thanks to everyone who replied. I really appreciate your help!

Another gastroenterologist at the Celiac Disease Center is Suzanne Lewis and
she takes more insurance plans. I found her telephone number on the internet
and it is 212-305-7492.

You might try my doctor in downtown Brooklyn. He's affiliated with Beth
Israel Hospital in Manhattan. I've seen him for six years, and I believe he
has about 40 celiac patients:

Dr. Lester P. Salwen
96 Schermerhorn St #1H
Brooklyn NY 11201
718-834-2050

We use Dr. Robert Schuman in West Orange, NJ which is not too far. He uses
an endoscopy outpatient facility unless you have some serious medical
problem in which case they use St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston,
NJ. He will work with nutrition, does not laugh at the SCD diet and we like
him. He is our 3rd gastro and we plan to keep him. She was already
diagnosed before coming to him, but he has successfully treated for
overgrowth and not ulcerative colitis.

My doctor is Dr. Ruven Schein-212-725-5300. He is a gastroenterologist and
internist and performs the endoscopy (under anesthesia). I have been in his
practice for years and he is very thorough. His office is on E. 33rd St and
he is part of a practice-Manhattan Internal Medicine Associates. I recommend
him.

I see Dr. Suzanne Lewis at the Celiac Disease
Center at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital. Dr.
Peter Green has other colleagues, including her,
at the Center who might accept your brother's
insurance - see
