I'm not happy with UHF and VHF lately, too many people jumping in to nets
with out seeing if the frequency's in use first and getting mad about it or
having a QSO and ignoring the NCS though they broke up a net and stuff. If
it wasn't for NTS, ARES, and RACES, I don't think I'd have anything to do
with VHF at all, UHF is still a decent crowd, when you can find an active
repeater. 900 MHz I'm having fun with though most of that is around the
repeater I got and will put up soon, and that's where my UHF fun will be too
I'd imagine. The UHF machine needs a lot of work, the power's way down and I
think I know why but I'm thinking because of how it's built, a complete
teardown and rebuild might be my best bet, so, that's my project in my very
limited spare time these days I think. Hopefully I'll have 1 repeater, my
900 MHz up on the air by the end of the year and 2, in some capacity, by
spring, linked by summer. I may put something just thrown together on UHF
when I get the go ahead just to hold my frequency pair until the repeater's
done and then link them.
