Hi, all.

I am nowhere near making a decision here, but a fellow ham friend seems
interested in a swap of sorts. He seems willing to purchase my "used" Icom
IC746, in exchange for his "used" TS480 plus some additional accessories.
My 746 is just a plain 746 that was bought back in December of 1999. The
746 does have a 500-hz CW filter in it, plus the UT102 voice chip. The guy
seems willing to throw in things like a correctly-wired MC60 mic, plus the
speach chip and 500-HZ CW filter along with the TS480 itself.

One of the things I'm sacrificing in this possible deal, of course, would be
the 100-watt all-mode 2-meter feature in the 746, plus probably a slightly
better receiver front end on the 746.

In return, though, I do think I'm getting a heck of a lot more accessibility
with the TS480.

I suppose, if I got enough for the IC746, I could spring for another Kenwood
TMV71A, or just use one of my older TMV7a's to solve the 2-meter loss with
the sale of the 746, but again, this seems to be the real "sticking point"
in my mind.

So, if anyone has any idea as to what a plain 746 would go for these days,
let me know.

I want to be fair here, but don't want to do something I'd regret later.
