Sean, that 201 is a workhorse of a radio.  Lots more power than the 
kenwoods.  I would be careful about pulling out a final.  Lots of final 
stages are configured in "push pull" this expects to see two identical final 
tubes.  The other problem is having a hot plate cap hanging out in space. 
800 volts shorting to ground usually is not a good thing.  Actually, it's 
never a good thing.  If you are driving an amp, back off the drive to both 
tubes instead.  If you are not driving an amp, use the power.  That's why 
it's there.
