Hi there, I have a circuit made by a friend which is an oscillator
controlled by a 1N34 diode, and with a length of wire, is definitely
sensitive enough to work quite well on the low bands, (we use to call them
that, e.g. 80, 40, 20, etc.) with a sensitivity control, so the tone would
not get too high, and it works quite well still, after 35 years of use.

that's why I use it with the TS-520, the tone on the TW-1 seems a little
shaky at times and that Ni Viking unit, very steady tone, I am a lot more
confident in tuning with the Ni.
