With me, it wasn't a case where I didn't mind spending the money, it was a
case where I go a lot of radio swapping and RACES/ARES stuff where sometimes
you find someone who might ask me to put connectors on for them to save time
and stuff, so mine gets very heavy use. In that aspect, it's worth the
money. For the casual user who gets a new radio pretty much every 10 years
or so or when they need it, probably any old thing will do. I have a general
set of crimpers that will work fine for that, it's all in how much you use
them and how much you need it. Like I said, once every 10 years, the right
tool is probably a complete waste of money, like me, a time or 2 a year,
sometimes more or less, plus the helping people, it's worth it.
