yeh I believe the UK has some sort of mandate currently for digital TV
channels.
I'm sure someone from there can speak to that.
We don't yet in canada, though no doubt our astewt leaders will faithfully
follow like sheep once the US has gone all digital.
Remember though, with digital TV, it makes things like DVS easier and
cheaper for the tv broadcasters to implement, as seen in the UK.
You can turn it on or off just like the closed captioning.
