Radio shack used to make an audio switcher, I have seen video versions.  You 
can switch three inputs and 3 outputs through one tape monitor input output. 
Very handy, I wonder if you could find one.  I am still using my 1974 
pioneer, with a separate annalog tuner.  Much more headroom, and better 
receiver.
