Bobby:

I'd say that if the radio is in good shape and perfect working condition, 
the price is somewhat reasonable, especially with the voice chip already 
installed.  You might want to check if any filters or other items have been 
installed also,  which might make the radio worth even more.

If you could get them down maybe a bit on the price, that'd be a plus too. 
New TS480's without the voice chip run around $999, with a lower price if 
you can take advantage of occasional specials, say at AES.  The advantage of 
a totally new rig, of course, would be the warranty.
