Hi Fred:

Oddly enough, I bought one just recently.

In the U.K. we have a company called Roberts - I don't know if you can buy
their stuff in the U.S.

It has A.M. medium wave and long wave, FM mono when on the internal speaker,
and stereo when using headphones.

When using headphones, the lead to them is used as the antenna for MW/LW and
it has a bit of wire which plugs into the headphone jack as an antenna on
other occasions.

It is a remarkable piece of equipment which literally does fit into my shirt
pocket, and it has a detachable belt clip also.

GBP15- equivalent to about USD30.

Over here, cricket commentaries are broadcast on LW.

BTW: cricket is a superior form of baseball!!!!!!!<G>!
