Well, I'm making progress again here, but will have to end soon because of
going to some friends for Christmas dinner.
I've now got my CW weight adjusted properly, and am getting the hang of the
filter adjustments.
Haven't tried any of the equalization stuff, or SSB yet.
I tried using the headphone jack on the side of the control panel for a
Radio Shack external speaker that usually works quite well, and the speaker
volume dropped sharply. (probably an impedance issue). Does anyone know if
there's another jack for an external speaker on the main radio unit?
Finally, I do have a question that I need an answer to so I don't risk
damaging anything:
Once you've tuned an antenna with the internal automatic antenna tuner, do
you leave the tuner on, or turn it off? When I leave it on, I can hear the
tuner's relays clicking, which doesn't sound like it'd be the best thing in
the world for the tuner. As long as I get the CW A after tuning, is it best
to turn the auto-tuner off completely>?
