i just ignore the the notices to update because I like the vertion I use.
Those notices go away eventually on its own anyways

I've never seen that problem,b ut it sounds like updating it will fix the
problem probably so just go to www.winamp.com and get the latest version,
which you'll have to do anyway when you get the update to work and hopefully
that will take care of it.
