The man in the story has an incounter with God....God appears to him as a
black woman because he was abused by his father and so had no relationship
with him that was positive. I think the overall message of the book is
good; there will always be those who want to argue every point, it is
fiction after all, it just simply reminds the whole of humanity that there
is a God, who loved the world enough that He gave his son, and God gives
people free will, and some choose to do evil instead of good.
