Best as I remember, it's a contest put on by CQ magazine, and is CW only. 
It covers all HF bands from 10 through 160.

You can work both state-side and DX contacts, and it's a lot of fun.

I forget how the scoring works, and will have to download the latest N3FJP 
logging software, but it's usually a lot of fun.
