Eric,
Creative makes very good sound cards, and turtle beach makes good ones as
well.
You might also want to consider m-audio, but those are a bit more on the
expensive side.
Getting jaws to run through a usb head set is very simple, and I can help
you through it if you'd like, however, at last check, getting jaws to run
through a seperate sound card was next to impossible with windows vista.
Not saying that it can't be done, but the method hasn't been worked out and
proven completely yet.
