Tom,
Don't have a 480, but that won't stop me from chiming in. I know the 2000
has an option to allow the tuner to be in line during both rx and tx, or
just for tx and switch out for rx. I never use this feature, so not sure if
it adds any more clicks during changeover. In any event, I'm sure that
whatever you are hearing is normal.
I think it's human nature to always think that the new piece of gear you
just bought is the 1 dog out of 10,000 from the factory. BTW, a few days
before Christmas I busted my piggy bank and got a Tokyo Hy Power solid state
amp. I'm still in shakedown mode here, but so far no funny sounds, or
smells, or smoke.
