Hi Eric;
Its kind of fun deciding.  There are lots of good ic706 available used if 
size is a consideration and there is lots of good helpful info on i can work 
this thing.com concerning the 706
As for me I'm still wavering between the ts480 and ts2000.

yes this is only a qrp rig.

So far as the keypad Stone Mountain has gone out of business.

Now these sorts of keypads     are made by John Hansen.

I've considered getting a Kenwood TS480SAT and turning down the power.

I'm also considering the Elecraft k3.

I also like the Ten-Tec Argonaut V.

Unfortunately, I'd have to program that radio via computer software.

You can't use any sort of keypad with that rig.

I'm going to Dayton I hope this year so will wait until then to make up my
mind.
