***Here are details on the RS Sirial cable designed for programming a scanner, which several of us bought and used very successfully on Icom radios.
If still available, ...check your local and regional RS stores, As it _Will work with HRD and the Icom ic706 703&703+ radios, maybe some others.
The cable's catalogue number is 20-289, RadioShack
closed them out at Company stores for under five dollars, in May2007.  HTH, Danny.
