I've seen that happen with short runs even at the state EOC I help out at
once. Someone put the Anderson power poles on in a hurry. 1 day someone put
my radio in high power and I didn't know it, a couple minutes in to the net
call up for the month, my radio shut off. That's what happened there was the
crimp wasn't very good, on a short connection and the connector got hot,
melted inside and that was that. I had to go back later in the week for
something anyway and put fresh connectors on but that day, I got it working
again but we had to run it on low power and be careful. Now that it's fixed,
it works as it should, high power or anything.
