Hi Butch,

The web site dkmods.com has several mods including a fan mod.  They also 
have a mod to increase the vhf/uhf sensativity.  I haven't gotten it done to 
mine yet.  Of course as I write this mine is sitting their with the fan 
making noise.

If I had one complaint about the ts-2000 it would be the fan noise.

I am kind of particular about that kind of stuff and that is part of why I 
am considering adding the ts-480sat to my shack instead of having 2 
ts-2000's.
