the TS2000 can not generate the tones by itself, unless you use the
preprogrammed DTMF function which means you would have to program every node
you ever intend to dial up...which is terribly limiting.
I'm not sure you can even program the DTMF codes in the 2000 without a
microphone keypad.
This is, in my mind, one of the biggest short falls of the ts2000...how
difficult would it have been to allow the front panel keypad to act as a
DTMF input pad as well.
