I didn't know you were looking at  this process. I must have missed 
something along the way.  Some ideas,  blatently obvious and all are:

* Benefit concerts by local musicians or local music associations
* Church donations
* Local Lions Club maybe
* Local businesses
* Benefit dinner
* Writing a letter stating your situation and asking folks to pray about 
what they might contribute.

* Raffle give-a-way

Here's an article to read. There sure are lots of ways for people to make 
money off fund raiser ideas, is nothing non-proprietary these dyas? Here's 
an article.

It might help to seek those with abundance through  a NFP so they are given 
a tax  write off.
