Yes mam. I think my battery life on this model is like 32 straight hours if 
I had a mind to do so *smile*. However, if you are using this for college 
lectures, there are two things that come to mind. First find one, and maybe 
they all can I don't know, but find one that can use rechargeable batteries 
and get a charger. It will save you  bucks. Check though because some 
things may not want you to use rechargeable. Secondly I'd also make sure 
that it is OK with your prof/instructor.  Sometimes they don't like that 
because  some young ones record it for their buddies so they don't have to 
go to class and so forth. Not an issue with you which I'm sure they'd know.
