Mary I tried the progressive lenses but found that even after 4 weeks
they still made me feel nauseated every time I turned my head. But I
have lots of friends with them who like them fine. My clue came when the
young lady fitting me with frames said, you don't want that awful line
in your lenses do you? That's really old-fashioned.
The way to get cheap glasses is to pass all the displays and ask to see
their welfare rack. They will pull out a box from a back room somewhere,
with about 6 selections that are designed to make you look as ugly,
poor, and unemployable as possible. On poor people they serve as a
license plate that says hate me I'm poor and I deserve it. On you they
will probably look avant-garde.
At least I think mine do!
