Hi Tom,
I have used the Cobolt color detector to tell the colors of wire, but it is
easy to get a false reading. I used to put black electrical tape on the
black ground wire, but that always bothered me, so I googled "colored
electrical tape" and bought some white tape. I wanted to get red, but the
only light color I could get was white. So, now I tape the red wire, the
lead that could short out. Now in the world of electricians, white is
ground, but I'm not going to worry about that!
