For the length in feet divide 234 by freq in mhz, so 50 divided by 50 is 
4.78 feet.  Also keep in mind you'll want  proper polarization depending 
on whether you're working fm which is vertical or ssb which is normally 
horizontal.  You'll lose about 40 db if the polarity isn't right.
