Thanks, I have the 718 but forgot the S-meter readout
was an option that
could be turned on/off.  I found the setting in the
manual so I'll let Gary
know about this setting.

There's a way to change that in 1 of the menus. It's
been so long since I
had mine I don't remember it but it's not a problem,
just a setting. The
deal went bad on mine so I only had it a few weeks. It
wasn't a bad radio.
