The last one I took down the cores at the place the twin lead meets the 
coax, the metal sleeves at least inside the ballem looking thing, were all 
in horrible shape with metal slivers all over the place in there. I'm not 
sure how that happened but most of it was metal shavings by then and it 
worked up to the end. I think the problem in the end was the metal shavings 
shorting it but I put the current one up and gave that to someone else to 
fix.
