Hi.

I have Ad Aware, Spybot, and AVG, so I'm reasonably sure that my systems
are free of harmful processes (other than Microsoft Windows!). I even have
the AVG software for scanning for root kits.

I did defrag the drives, and on the shack computer file fragmentation was
at 6%, while the computer upstairs was at 14%. I don't think the computer
upstairs has ever been defragged, and it has probably been a year or so
since the one downstairs was done.

I have found that my music recording and editing activities involve a lot
of copying and deleting of large files so file fragmentation is something
that I would definitely expect, but I haven't tried to defrag with JAWS
running since the Windows 98 days, and it didn't seem to work very well on
'98. I didn't know what the story was on Windows XP, but it seems to work
pretty well now, at least from a JAWS accessibility standpoint.

Colin, is the software that you suggested shareware, or is it a piece of
commercial software? I hadn't heard of it until yesterday.
