i don't have an thF6A, I have just heard lots of them on the air and they
almost always have less then average tx audio...not super low, probably
shows up decent on a
scope, but invariably when they have some noise behind from a poor signal,
the audio is bad enough that it makes it very difficult to understand the
voice.
Lots of HT's are like that, i just find that any icom i've ever had has
never had that problem, in fact, you always have to keep at least 3 inches
away to keep from distorting.
With the f6, you have to keep it within an inch to get good results and
always talk in a normal to slightly above normal voice.
but like you said, your milage may vary in all things hi hi.
