Hi John,

On the OE Menu, click "View", choose "Text Size" on the sub-menu,
then select the size you want (largest, larger, medium, smaller, smallest).

In "Tools > Options", choose the "Send" tab
Click the top "Plain Text Options" button
UNcheck the box beside "Indent the original text......."
Click "OK", then "Apply", then "OK"

This will stop the quoted portion from indenting and being PREfaced with a character, but I'm not sure that's what you are asking about. I seem to remember a "=20" being attached on the RIGHT end of the lines (may have been only on one site's email - maybe this one), but I can't remember what I did about it.

I'm not sure about the Window size/position. XP should remember the last size/position of Windows. In folder options, there is a checkbox for "Remember each folder's view settings" that makes Windows remember the size/placement/settings for each folder.

I don't know if that applies to OE Windows or not (you may have to click on "Apply to All Folders" (which will lose any different current settings you may have), but I can't really see what Folders has to do with Windows - although it very well may (you choose to change some things (such as fonts) in Display > Appearance and it changes other things as well).

Sometimes the Shift+Close works, but it's irritating to have to remember to do something like that everytime you close a window. OE remembers its size/position for me, but I just don't know if its because I have that box checked or not. May be worth a try.

Subject: Default Text size in Win XP-service pak 2

I'm using Win XP-service pack 2 , and Outlook Express for e-mails.
My problem is that I cannot get O E to retain the text size (large ) , =
and it changes back to=20
medium every time I click on another e-mail.
Also, I cannot get pages in O E to open in maxium size , and have to =
open them maximized manually.
Where do I find the place to change the default sizes, as under HELP. =
and text size info does not help.
Thanks=20
