If you can afford it, the Ken Wood 700 is an awesome radio and easy to
program. Simply fille out the programming list in the software and
connect a 9 pin cereal cable between your computer and radio and load
the info. You can also set menus and such through the same software.
Another nice thing is the built in TNC which allows for packet, APRS and
sky command. It's a rather pricey radio but it's well worth it.
