Hi John,

I think it's a pretty good amp. It is very, very blind friendly since the
only control on it is the band switch. If you have some sort of tuning
indicator such as the TW-1 power meter from LDG you can use it to set the
ALC with a pot on the back but that is all of the adjustments you need to
make.

However, just to suggest an alternative, for a couple of hundred dollars
more you could buy the Tokyo Hy-Power HL-1KFX which is the amplifier I have
and is, in my opinion, a much better product. It has the added convenience
of containing the power supply in the same cabinet as the amplifier and also
has a switch on the bottom to change from 120 to 240 volts with ease. It is
also very blind friendly being similar in operation to the ALS-600. It
offers about the same power output as well.

Good luck with your purchase and very 73.

Kevin :)

Hello all,

Any comments or experience with Ameritron ALS-600?

How blind friendly is it?
Thanks
