I beg to differ on the icom not having made a good hand held since the w2a, 
my ic-v82 is really quite the nice rig.  I'm not really that thrilled that 
the d-star module is going to cost me almost twice the cost of the radio, 
which is why I'm postponing that particular purchase indefinitely as I'd 
rather get echo link set up with my v71, and get a ts2000 here in the shack 
and possibly a thf6a before the ut123 board and cable, but it will 
eventually be done.  *smile*
