    Howard:

The plastic cover is on the front center of the main radio unit.

You'll feel it just above what seems to be a round group of ventilation 
holes on the center of the radio unit.

Once you find it, put your fingernail in the crack at the top of the radio, 
and gently pull the cover towards you, and presto, it'll come off, and there 
will be the jacks.  There's an external speaker jack on the left, followed 
by two data jacks.

My XYL tells me that the cover says "Kenwood" on it.

If you still can't find it, let me know, and I'll try another description.

What puzzles me is why they put the cover there, and what purpose it serves.
