Your friend will find two programs to be very useful from two different
places.
1. Spybot available from the download section at
http://www.savemybutt.com, they have many other useful downloads there as
well. addaware and avg free anti-virus to name two.
Next, go to
http://www.jfwlite.com and find the spybot auto-run zip file.
This has an automatic installer, that when placed in the same folder as the
spybot installer, will automatically install spybot on to your computer.
It will put an autorun.bat file in the spybot program folder where the
program has been installed.
This autorun.bat file can be given a desktop shortcut. Now when you hit the
shortcut, spybot will update it's self, run it's scan, display the results,
and remove the threats it found. The program does take a lot of resources,
but I put autorun in my startup group, so that it runs every time I reboot
my computer. That means every few days.
