Hi.

I actually wouldn't mind trying out 900 MHz if there were some other 
activity in this area, but in Rochester, NY, all I would hear most likely 
is white noise.  I'd probably have to put in a substantial enough antenna 
to reach Toronto before I would have any reasonable expectation of working 
anybody.
