Thanks Walt, but the button on this radio doesn't stay in. Each time you
push it, it cycles between three tones, atleast that's the way it works on
my other radio of the same model. The difference is that the TR-7930 has a
tone board installed on the outside of the unit with 6 switches so I don't
think the actual tone button on the radio does anything.

Hi Bobby,
I had a 7600 which is an older radio than the one you have but I think they
are similar.  I think the PL button on the front of the radio must be pushed
in when using a repeater with PL.  I hope this helps.  73
