Tom,

Why don't you stop by 3976 some time and listen to Jim, QLR. The audio on the
480 is outstanding; maybe a notch below the 2000 or 756, but certainly better
than the 706MK3.

    Guys:

Is the transmit audio on the TS480 really bad?

Am I going to be disappointed in it if I take the plunge and get this radio?

How does it compare to the transmit audio of say the IC706 or IC718?
