Nope, he has a 2 band EQ and an 8 band EQ. I've never heard any of the 
"effects" you speak of but I do know of a lot of people that run full studio 
setups which might be what you're referring to. I don't see any point in 
spending $10000 in audio, but I do know people who have done it though the 
interest usually doesn't last long and that's all usually up for sale again 
with in 6 months. There are people out there that do that with audio mixing 
boards and everything, it's nuts. I liked my w2ihy box and plan to buy 
another one when I have the money, I sold the old one because I was very 
short of cash, but spending more on audio than I did for the radio is 
something I'll never do. I like my MC-80 on every Kenwood radio I've ever 
used and the gold line is a good mic as well if you want to sound great with 
out all that expense.
