Hi Walt.

I had to comment. The Kenwood TR7600 was the first rig that I had on 2
meters. I bought it used in May, 1981, and shortly after sprung for one of
the closeout RM76 microprocessor control units--6 memory channels and
scanning! Wow wee!

I used mine to drive a Mirage B108 amplifier. I kept it until I had the
chance to pick up a Kenwood TS780 2m/70 cm All Mode radio--10 watts on each
band--the actual last 10 watt radio that Kenwood made, although TS780s are
quite rare in the United States, but a sweet radio with a dynamite front end.

Thanks for the nostalgia. I have fond memories of both of those radios. I
also owned the Kenwood TR9000, which I did not care for. The receiver was
okay, but the frequency display was so dim that even with fairly good
vision, it was mighty tough to read.
