The DSP can be used independantly on SSB and CW modes without effecting
settings on each mode.
You effectively have totally customizable filters for ssb, CW, RTTY/FSK and
AM/FM modes.
You are unable to adjust skirting or cut off steepness ratios, but they get
very very tight the smaller the filters get.
I think you can get right down to 50HZ on the cw mode.
I know allot of people don't trust DSP for whatever reason, but it really
does allow you to do everything that mechanical filters do, so there really
is no need for the mechanical filter in a ts2000.
That said, I do believe they can be installed anyway...one of the menu items
allows for different sized filters to be put in the radio.
The dsp in the ts2000 is nothing like the dsp in the ts570.
Not only is it much better, but its used for more functions so its integral
to the operation of the radio...and everyone agrees that the radio is second
to few when it comes to receiver sensativity and selectivity.
