Hi;
True one can maintain that radios made in the usa are "high end" radios but 
it is unfortunate that companies such as tentec are unwilling or unable to 
put out radios of similar price and quality to the kenwoods 2000 or the 480. 
Yes there stuff has superior performance in some cases but at a very 
superior price.
As for Icom, I must agree that the prices of both their cables as well as 
software has to be considered when trying to decide to buy the radio.  The 
fact that much of the kenwood software is a free download certainly makes a 
difference.
Now if we could only solve the rest of the world's problems
