There are lots of products still made in the US, by americans, for
americans.
For instance, Most of the worlds LSD supply comes straight from the US, made
from scratch.
So does the US supply of chrystal meth.

US currency is made in the US, and lets not for get about toyota and honda's
major car building factories in the US.
Sure, the companies are bassed in japan, but the vehicles are made right in
the good old USA.
Everyone is so wrapped up in the consumer goods coming out of china for next
to nothing, that they totally forget about all the products that are
actually designed, manufactured and sold within the US.

But remember, if you go to a store, and you see two nearly identical
products, one for $45, and one for $15, and by all accounts they do
precisely the same thing, and perhaps its pretty close to the end of the
month, or you just payed your morgidge, or perhaps your kids neede braces,
whatever, your going to buy the $15 product, because in your mind, even if
it is a peace of junk, you can buy 2 replacements over the next how ever
many years that the more expensive product would have lasted anyway.
Now, those who are wining and complaining about china's export of consumer
goods into the US have deliberately supported that export because they sure
as hell aren't going to pay US prices for US made products.
And, they're going to keep buying them, forcing china to keep expanding to
meet demand, which is fueled by oil and gas. Now, china being the fuel
hungry giant it is, will up bid oil prices to get the oil they desperately
need, because they have the money from greedy, consumer goods needy
americans, and will subsiquently drive world oil prices up, which translates
into higher prices at your corner gas station.
So, now you have the moaning and groaning and outrage at higher gas prices,
while at the same time, those same people who are whining and complaining go
down to their local electronics store and buy that peace of equipment they
wanted on sale for half or a quarter of what something similar used to cost
10 years ago.
Do you see the inconsistancy and hipocracy in that? yet, it isn't stopping,
but only increasing.
There is nothing wrong with getting cheaper consumer goods from other
countries, however, it is going to have noticeable effects at home and will
have some negative consequences.

That's my rant for this thread.
